Dear Friends,

While this year may have started slowly with that touch of bad weather we experienced, May was one of our busiest hotel months ever! In that single month, we had guests from the four corners of the world, with one common thread.

Whether they hailed from Italy, South Africa, New Zealand or Argentina, every one of our guests came away adoring Boston. Sometimes it just takes looking through someone else’s eyes to recognize how lucky we truly are.

Here is a look at what we have in store for for you this month of June, beginning with Sparkle!

See you,

Peter & Cecilia Rait

4th of July

On Saturday, July 4th, 2015 we are honoring Independence Day with special menu items to celebrate summer and freedom with our guests. Chef Lucas Sousa’s brunch specials will include: Watermelon Salad, Grilled Chorizo with Pepper Relish, Crab Cakes, and a Strawberry Trifle for dessert. In addition to the brunch specials Chef Sousa will serve a BBQ Braised Pork Shoulder, while guests can end on a sweet note with the Portuguese Malasada, fried dough tossed in sugar, before the famed Boston Pops perform and the iconic firework display.

We have partnered with Boston’s own Harpoon Brewery to offer our travelers from near and far an all new way to explore the city! Beginning July 1st, 2015 New Englanders and travelers alike can escape to the city for our  “Beercation” where you’ll take a tour of Harpoon Brewery and enjoy a 3-course dinner beer dinner prepared by Executive Chef Lucas Sousa.

You will start your Beercation by checking into your one night stay in a luxurious queen guest room with sweeping views of the charming Charles Street as you enjoy two Harpoon beers. After settling in, we will arrange a tour of the brewery located on the waterfront in Boston’s Seaport District. The tour will take you through the process of brewing and canning Harpoon and eventually lead to a tasting of freshly brewed Harpoon and UFO beers. Following the tour and tasting, you will return to the hotel where we will treat you to a three course meal for two. Each course will be paired with a different beer on our menu. The following morning we will treat you to a complimentary breakfast at the Bistro before checking out.

Save the Date: Midsommarmiddag
Midsommarmiddag 2015

One of the most ancient and revered holidays of the year, the summer solstice carries with it traditions and customs predating our own. In Scandinavia, “Midsummer’s Eve” is considered by many to be the greatest festival of the entire year. The Swedish celebration of the summer solstice is positively delightful, with special food, libations, activities and games.

Join us at the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro as we commemorate the summer solstice through food & drink with our traditional ‘Midsommarmiddag” or “Midsummer Dinner” beginning Monday, June 15th, 2015 and continuing until Sunday, June 21st, 2015. Available 5:30PM – 11:00PM for $47.00 per person, the traditional dinner will be a prix fixe menu and served in conjunction with our regular menu and dinner service. Traditional and potent acquavits will also be available. But take care, lest they turn you into a Viking!

All New Spring Menu
maple brooks farm burrata

This spring, the Bistro is inspired by the updated flavors of traditional Parisian fare. Executive Chef Lucas Sousa is showcasing the season with special creations, from a crispy duck confit with blackberry and cornmeal cake, to a wild burgundy escargot with spring vegetable fricassee, brioche and bacon. Start with a locally-made burrata from Maple Brooks Farm with oranges, watermelon radish, arugula and pistachio puree. For entrees, our dry aged duck breast gets its seasonal flair from toasted farro, bulb onions, burnt orange, black garlic-carrot puree and bacon ravigote. For a smaller dish, try our kaffir lime curried salmon with grapefruit, mint, and fennel jam or the pork belly with braised shoulder tortellini and golden morels. Enjoy the fantastic flavors of spring at Beacon Hill Bistro!
